The most anticipated Bayelsa International Film Festival was officially declared opened by the His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri, who was represented by the Honourable commissioner for culture and tourism development Hon. Iti Orugnani.
The Governor expressed his excitement on the development and assured filmmakers and tourist of a peaceful and safe stay during the festival. According to the governor “I am so excited that Bayelsa International Film Festival had 86 participating countries in her maiden edition. This is to tell how and what the future owes for the movie industry in the state. And I will do everything in my power so ensure that next year edition is better and bigger than this year. I welcome all our visitors and ask that you feel at home because we’re hospitable people”.
He also thanked the vision bearer, Mr. Moses Etonzor and his team for putting up this great event.
