BIFF organisers meet with Bayelsa State Commissioner of Tourism, Hon. Iti Orugbani

Organisers of the prestigious Bayelsa International Film set to host her 3rd edition.

As the day draws nearer to the hosting season of the prestigious Bayelsa International Film Festival, the organisers paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner of Culture and Tourism, Hon. Dr. Iti Orugbani today at his office in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The meeting was to brief the Honorable Commissioner of the plans for this edition and how far the team has gone in their preparations.

The Founder of the festival, Director Moses Etonzor briefed the commissioner that this year’s edition got 117 participating countries with 3,593 films from around the globe. He further stated that the submission of films has ended but the announcement of selection and nomination will be on the 2nd of July, 2023. He as well informed the Hon. commissioner that this edition will play host to prominent film makers both nationally and internationally as there will be varieties of activities such as Master classes for Acting, Cinematography, Directing, and Script Writing. As well as industry sections where filmmakers will deliberate on key issues that will bring about growth to the movie industry in the state and networking amongst filmmakers.

The commissioner who was so pleased with the visit and briefing by the founder Director Moses Etonzor ensured the team of the ministry’s unwavering support and promised that the Ministry will be fully involve in this edition and do everything to ensure its success.

This meeting ended with the Founder, Director Moses Etonzor’s words of appreciation to the commissioner and the Bayelsa State government for welcoming such a great festival.
